Signing ceremony to launch Japanese and Korean Language Education Programs for Vinh Cuu High School students

On September 9, 2026, LHU held a signing ceremony to launch the Japanese and Korean Language Education Programs for students of Vinh Cuu High School for the 2026–2027 academic year at Hall B203, Campus 1. 

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Nguyen Van Quyet – Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Dong Nai city; Dr. Huynh Thanh Binh – Chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association in Dong Nai city; Ms. Hachisuka Makiko – Japanese Language Specialist at the Japan Foundation; Mr. Woo Sang Kyu – Chairman of KOCHAM Dong Nai, together with representatives of partner businesses. Representatives from the education sector included Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Deputy Head of the Division of General and Continuing Education, and Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Nga – Principal of Vinh Cuu High School.

Representing LHU were Dr. Nguyen Khanh Hung - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Thuong, M.A. - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Ms. Tran Minh Thuy Duong, M.A. - Head of the Japanese Studies Program; Ms. Do Thi Thuy, M.A. - Head of the Korean Studies Program and faculty members from the two programs.

Under the program, LHU’s Faculty of Oriental Studies will provide academic expertise, teaching staff, and student assessment. Vinh Cuu High School will coordinate class organization and student management, while the Friendship Associations will support cultural exchange and connections with Japan and Korea.

Notably, the program is also supported by businesses, with 70% of the program costs covered by businesses and the remaining 30% contributed by students. According to the organizers, learning Japanese and Korean not only gives students an additional communication tool but also helps them gain a better understanding of the cultures, study environments, and employment opportunities in countries that have strong economic ties with Vietnam.

Through the signing ceremony, LHU and Vinh Cuu High School officially agreed to cooperate in providing Japanese and Korean language education for students during the 2026-2027 academic year. The program aims to bring Japanese and Korean languages and cultures closer to high school students, while giving them opportunities to improve their foreign language skills and broaden their understanding of international study, cultural, and career environments.

For LHU, the program provides an opportunity to further promote the strengths of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, while strengthening connections with high schools and expanding educational cooperation. For students, early access to Japanese and Korean will help build a foundation in foreign languages and give them more options when planning their studies and future careers after high school.

On this occasion, LHU also awarded certificates to 27 students of Vinh Cuu High School who successfully completed the Visang Korean Language Course – Beginner 1A and the Special Korean Language Course offered by the King Sejong Institute Bien Hoa, marking the learning outcomes of the Korean language education program.
